Accessibility

Alcatraz is an accessible festival
Just like every year, we are strongly committed to accessibility, ensuring that all music lovers — including visitors with specific needs or disabilities — can fully enjoy the festival.
In collaboration with Inter, we do everything we can to make the musical experience as smooth as possible for people with disabilities.
What do we provide?
- Inter volunteers offering assistance at the parking areas, entrance, wheelchair platforms, and Inter campsite.
- Parking at XPO, where visitors with disabilities can use an accessible shuttle bus to the entrance of the campsite and festival grounds.
- An accessible festival site with three wheelchair platforms offering excellent views of the Prison Stage, The Swamp, and Helldorado.
- Accessible sanitary facilities both on the festival grounds and the campsite.
- A dedicated Inter section on the campsite, close to the festival area, equipped with electricity, accessible showers and toilets, and a separate care area (featuring a hoist and care bed).
- An alternative entrance, located near the shuttle drop- off zone.
Would you like to use these facilities?
Please complete the application form in advance and send us proof of your disability by email. Before the start of the festival, we’ll send you all necessary information and documents that will grant you access to the facilities.

How can you register to use the facilities for people with disabilities?
Fill out the INTER application form via the following link: Application Form
When does the Inter campsite open and close?
The Inter Campsite opens on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 9:00 a.m.. It is not necessary or possible to arrive earlier.
The campsite closes on Monday, August 10, at 12:00 p.m., by which time all visitors must have left the festival grounds.
A maximum of four friends may accompany you on the Inter Campsite.
Is electricity available on the Inter campsite?
Yes, electricity is available — however, you must complete the application form in advance.
If your request is approved, please bring your own extension cord of at least 10 meters in length.
What changes have been made regarding parking this year?
This year, there will be no separate Inter parking area. All visitors — including those with disabilities — will use Parking XPO. From there, several accessible shuttle buses will take you to the entrance of the campsite and the festival grounds.
You can request assistance from the parking area to the entrance of the campsite or festival.
Please note: this assistance is only available for visitors who do not have a companion to provide support.
Am I allowed to bring a folding chair?
Yes, folding chairs are permitted on the festival grounds, but you must submit a request in advance through the application form.
Can I bring and store my own medication at the festival for medical reasons?
Yes, you can — but you must fill out the application form in advance and provide a specific medical certificate stating why it is necessary for you to bring your own medication.
If your medication needs to be kept cool but you are not staying at the Inter Campsite, you can store it at the first aid station of the on-site emergency organization (for example: the Red Cross, Vlaams Kruis, etc.).
Can I bring my own food or drinks to the festival for medical reasons?
Yes, this is allowed — but again, you must complete the application form in advance and submit a specific medical certificate explaining why it is necessary for you to bring your own food and/or drinks.
What kind of assistance or support can you expect?
Inter volunteers provide assistance where needed — you can request this via the application form.
They can help with toilet visits, getting and consuming food or drinks, washing and dressing, getting in and out of your tent, practical questions, and more.
Please note that Inter volunteers are not allowed to perform medical procedures (such as catheterization, giving injections, etc.).
For any medical assistance, please contact the on-site first aid organization (for example: the Red Cross, Vlaams Kruis, etc.).
What qualifies as valid proof of disability?
Valid proof includes a European Blue Parking Card for people with disabilities, a European Disability Card or a recent medical certificate showing that you have a (temporary) disability.
What if you register too late?
If you missed the registration deadline, report to the alternative entrance at the event with a valid proof of disability.
We will review on-site what can still be arranged. Please note that spaces are limited, and late registrations cannot be guaranteed access to all facilities.
Do you need to order special tickets?
No, visitors with disabilities must purchase festival and (if applicable) camping tickets through the regular channels.
Does your companion get free access?
No, your companion must also have a valid festival ticket. There are no discounts provided for companions.
How many friends or companions can join you?
You may bring 1 companion with you through the alternative entrance and onto the wheelchair platform.
Up to 4 friends may stay with you overnight at the Inter Campsite.
What if you are pregnant?
Pregnant women cannot use the facilities reserved for visitors with disabilities. The number of available spaces is limited and demand from people with disabilities is high, these facilities are not accessible to pregnant women.
An exception is made for women who are more than 7.5 months pregnant. They may use the alternative entrance and are allowed to bring a folding chair onto the festival grounds.
To do so, you must complete the application form in advance and provide a copy of a medical certificate stating your expected due date.
How can you reach Inter at the event?
You’ll find Inter volunteers at the alternative entrance, the wheelchair platform, and the Inter Campsite.
They can be recognized by their white vests with the Inter logo.
When will my tickets be sent?
For any questions about your festival ticket, please contact the festival organizers directly.
Your practical information and confirmation letter for the accessibility facilities will be sent to you approximately one week before the festival.
Can you rent a wheelchair or crutches on site?
Yes, you can borrow crutches or a wheelchair free of charge during the festival. A deposit is required: €25.00 for crutches and €50.00 for a wheelchair. Ask an Inter volunteer for assistance.
What if, due to your disability, you are unable to attend the festival at the last minute?
Please inform Inter in advance so that your reservation for accessibility facilities can be cancelled and possibly reassigned to another visitor.
For your festival ticket, please contact the festival organizers.
