Alcatraz Line up: 2016

If you need a band to prove that radio play can have a huge impact on a band's success story, then Within Temptation can stand for that proof. By the second half of the nineties, this Dutch band, with the striking appearance of vocalist Sharon Den Adel, moves primarily in the underground metal scene. But then with the single “Ice Queen” , which is suddenly a large radio hit, they are reaching for the stars. Within Temptation is choosing wisely with “Mother Earth” as the second strong single. The band wait long enough to release the successor of a full album. They shoot professional video clips and they conquer the world, one country at a time. Awards and platinum records follow and ensure a big breakthrough for the Dutch band. Together with Nightwish, they are leading the female fronted garrison. This is evidenced with a completely sold out Antwerp Sportpaleis in 2012 with over 15.000 visitors! The symphonic metal band ends a busy tour year on December 20 with a special Christmas show on Dutch soil and will then focus on writing new songs. Because of this, Within Temptation will only provide a few appearances in 2016 and fortunately they chose the stage of Alcatraz to provide a fantastic summer show.
