Splendidula
Bio
Splendidula are an atmospheric black/doom band hailing from Belgium. Spawned in 2008, their self-titled debut dropped in 2013.
Their sophomore effort ‘Post Mortem’ (2018) drew the attention of Italian label Argonauta, resulting in a worldwide release of their third effort, ‘Somnus’ in 2021. In 2022 the Splendidula family suffered a massive blow with the untimely demise of bassist Peter. Both guitarists elected not to continue without him but vocalist Kristien and drummer Joachim decided to soldier on. The gripping first single of the new line-up’s first album, which is slated for a 2025 release, features a dark, brooding musical approach with a blend of black, doom and sludge.
