Alcatraz Line up: 2013, 2018

Formed in Atlanta just before the turn of the millennium by lead singer & professional wrestler Chris Jericho and Stuck Mojo guitarist Rich Ward, Fozzy started out by performing and recording covers of tracks by Maiden, Priest, W.A.S.P., Krokus and Accept to name but a few. Their third album, ‘All that Remains’ (2005) was the first to consist entirely of authentic material. Despite the many guest appearances by famous musicians (Marty Friedman! Zakk Wylde! Myles Kennedy!) they succeeded in giving the album a consistent and unique classic heavy metal sound with nu-metal accents. Since then their popularity has grown with every new album, helped in no small part by their energetic live performances, consummate showmanship and Ward’s wicked solos. Their most recent effort, ‘Judas’ (2017), follows their tried and true recipe of accessible, not-to-be-taken-too-seriously, radio-friendly hard rock and while their detractors may moan it’s all been done before, there’s no denying it works, period. First single ‘Judas’ racked up 8 million views in no time so they must be do something right!
