In 2023 they made a splash in Rock Tribune magazine’s end-of-year list - and deservedly so because ‘Low Desert Surf Club’ was among the best albums released by Belgian bands last year.
The band members describe themselves as ‘amp-hugging, hard-hitting, fuzz-loving, ear-splitting, riff-worshipping rock 'n’ rollers’. The Ghent-based quartet was founded in 2015 and shot straight out of the gate with their debut album ‘Viper Vixen Goddess Saint’. Fire Down Below are often heaped with praise for their unique sound: a melodic mix of fuzzed-out stoner, heavy psych and 90s grunge with traces of space rock and doom metal. And not to forget: stellar vocals.
