Bio
Dvne is a five-strong progressive metal band from Edinburgh, Scotland, that formed in 2013. The name refers to Frank Herbert’s science fiction novel and exemplifies the band members’ obsession with sci-fi and fantasy in all of its many forms.
Their debut full-length ‘Asheran’ (2017) forced an instant breakthrough and ‘Etemen Ænka’ featured in many an end-of-year list in 2021. Their latest feat ‘Voidkind’ once again employs their trademark tsunami of sound where the emotive vocals are overtaken by back-crunching riffs superimposed on waves of roiling drums and spine-chilling roars. Tinged with post-metal and doom influences, their unique blend of sludge and prog rock thrives on an epic sense of flow that permeates every single track. On Dvne the sands undulate endlessly. It’s all about flow. Dvne is a treat for fans of Mastodon, Opeth and Cult of Luna.
