Originally founded as Black Fuel in 2004, Devastatiön have been laying waste to the sonic landscape since 2006. Hailing from the somnolent town of Kaprijke, Belgium, this blackened thrash outfit has three full-lengths to its name as well as one EP. Their most recent feat is the 2024 album ‘Rise of the Dead’. If you’re into old school thrash with black and death influences, this is definitely up your alley. The album takes cues from Kreator and Sodom but Possessed and Evil Invaders also spring to mind. The black and death leanings have become more pronounced since the 2018 EP ‘Drink With the Devil’, enriching the overall sound and marking a shift away from pure thrash.
