Bio
In 2009, after attending a concert by Australian rockers Airbourne, guitarist Adam Thistlethwaite and vocalist Barry ‘Baz’ Mills decided to write hard rock tracks from then on.
The nickname of a local barmaid gave them their band name and in the early years they slowly built a loyal following but widespread commercial success remained absent. Then in 2017 they released the children’s cancer benefit single ‘Back to the Stack’, which received a lot of airplay and alerted Earache to the band’s potential. With the right backing, the album ‘Full Nelson’ was a success and they embarked on their first European tour. On ‘Triggered!’ (2022) they fine-tuned their pop punk / punk rock-influenced hard rock sound. ‘Generation Prime’ (with Skindred vocalist Beji Webbe) and ‘Fuck the Haters’, an anti-bullying song, were hits in the UK. Fans of AC/DC and Black Stone Cherry will love Massive Wagons.
