One of the bands that has featured on our wish list for ages is the mighty Exhorder. We had the good fortune of catching them live in Belgium in the early 90s and the memory of that pit-smashing performance smolders to this day. The New Orleans natives produced such legendary albums as ‘Slaughter in the Vatican’ (1990) and ‘The Law’ (1992), adding a groovy dimension to thrash metal and undoubtedly inspiring fellow New Orleanian Phil Anselmo, Lamb of God and a slew of other bands. Exhorder folded in 1994 due to a lack of work ethic and an unfortunate combination of circumstances. Singer Kyle Thomas subsequently did stints with Floodgate, Trouble and Alabama Thunderpussy. More importantly, though, Thomas and guitarist Vinnie LaBella recently decided to reanimate Exhorder. Jason Viebrooks (Grip Inc., Heathen) and Sasha Horn (Forbidden) complete the 2018 line-up.
