Camping info

When is the campsite open?

All campsites are open as from 9 a.m. on Thursday August 8th and close the following Monday (12 August) at noon. The Campsite Office is open round the clock for check-in.

Where is the campsite located?

The campsite sits next to the festival grounds. There’s a shortcut with a separate entrance from the campsite to the festival grounds to avoid endless queues for campers!

Where is the car park for the camping guests?

Out of respect for the residents, campers cannot park in the immediate vicinity of the festival. If you do so anyway you may be fined. The car park of Kortrijk XPO / Kinepolis is the official car park for Alcatraz Open Air 2024. For easy access enter the following GPS coordinates:

Here you can board a free shuttle bus:
  • Thursday: between 8 a.m. and 2 a.m.
  • Friday: between 8 a.m. and 3 a.m.
  • Saturday: between 8 a.m. and 3 a.m.
  • Sunday: between 8 a.m. and 3 a.m.
  • Monday: between 8 a.m. and 12.30 p.m.

These shuttle buses have large storage compartments for your tent and camping gear.

How much is a camping ticket?

Camping tickets are €21 per person. Camping tickets must be purchased in advance via the ticket page and we ask that you bring a printed copy to the festival.

What is included in the camping ticket?

A camping ticket gives access to all camping facilities including free showers, water flush toilets (round the clock service) and access to the comfortable and cosy chillout zone including a bakery, food trucks, a camping shop and animation.

Motorhome campsite

At the Motorhome Campsite near the festival grounds, motorhome ticket holders are allocated a pitch measuring up to 6 x 7 m for their motorhome (or caravan with awning). Cost: €85/pitch + €21 per camping ticket per person (ticket per camper = compulsory)

What is included in the motorhome ticket?

In addition to access to the sanitary blocks with water flush toilets and showers there is also a waste water tank. 1 electric hook-up (220V) is provided per motorhome/caravan. Remember to bring your own undamaged extension cord! You can leave your car next to your caravan.

For easy access to the Motorhome and Motor Campsite please follow the ‘Motorhomes’ signs that are placed on all access roads to the site.


Motor Camping

If you’re coming by motorcycle you have two options:

  1. Buy a ticket for the Motor Campsite, entitling you to a pitch for 1 motorcycle + 1 small tent at the Motorhome Campsite right next to the festival grounds. Cost: €10, bikers only. Please note all campers must also purchase a camping ticket (€21/pp). See Motorhome Campsite for more details.
  2. Park your motorcycle in the car park at Kortrijk XPO, board the free shuttle bus to the festival grounds and stay at the regular (tent) campsite. Camping tickets are €21/per person (ticket per camper compulsory).

Exchange your ticket for a wristband

On Thursday 8 August between 4-8 p.m. campers can exchange their voucher for a combi or day wristband in the breakfast tent at the campsite.

Sanitary facilities

All campers benefit from free sanitary facilities (toilets, running water, showers).


Breakfast

Every morning (Friday through Monday) campers can buy a breakfast package consisting of 2 breakfast pastries + 1 yoghurt + 1 pc of fruit + 1 fruit juice or cocoa and 2 coffees. These packages are €8 in presale or €10 on the day. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday you can get off to a good start with our generous breakfast buffet! Two breakfast pastries, sandwiches, bread, ham & cheese, butter, yoghurt, fruit salad, fruit juice or cocoa, bacon & eggs and 2 coffees are yours for €13 in presale or €15 on the day.

Cold beer

Only for campers! Not looking forward to drinking lukewarm beer after pitching your tent? Order a cold six-pack of 50cl beers in advance for €12 (€15 on the day) and collect it from the beer stand at the campsite between Thursday 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Give thieves no chance! Leave your valuable items at home. If you do bring valuable items, be sure to store them safely in one of our lockers. The organisers cannot be held responsible for damage, loss or theft.


Camping shop Mr Campchamp

Mr Campchamp returns to the Alcatraz campsite! This is the place to be for those small but essential camping purchases. There is also an airbed inflation service on site.

Campsite Office / Bar

This is the central point of the campsite. Camping staff is on hand round the clock throughout the festival weekend to help create an unforgettable Alcatraz Campsite experience. You can also stock up on snacks, soft drinks and coffee and you’re always welcome for a friendly chat.


Animation

The campsite also offers a range of (free) animation including yoga, axe throwing, belly sliding, petanque, … the full programme will be posted in the run-up to the festival.


Keep things tidy!

Upon arrival every camper receives 2 refuse bags: one for residual waste and one for PMD. Use these bags and hand them in at the appropriate collection points prior to your departure. Don’t feel like dragging all your kit back home? Then you can donate some or all of your camping gear in the donation pit.

Container park

Campers receive one token for a cup of coffee/tea/chocolate milk for every full bag of sorted waste (PMD and residual waste) they hand in. This special token is only valid at the Campsite Office. Between Friday and Monday, refuse bags can be handed in at the campsite container park between 8 a.m. and noon. You’ll find the container park right next to the large sanitary block.


First aid

The Red Cross station is manned throughout the festival. A first-aid kit is also available in the Campsite Office.


Not allowed at the campsite:

  • Glass
  • Barbecues
  • Candles, torches, campfires, bonfires
  • Fireworks
  • Pocket knives, folding knives, switchblades and all other items the organisers may deem potentially dangerous
  • Generators, aggregates and music installations
  • Weapons possession
  • Drugs possession
  • Party tents
  • No trading or commercial activities are allowed
  • Gas burners with gas canisters are STRICTLY prohibited. All other types of gas burners up to 500 g with a valve ARE allowed.

  • It is prohibited to serve beverages with an alcohol content higher than 0.5% (beer, wine, etc.) to under-16s. It is also prohibited to offer spirits to under-18s.

Offenders will be removed from the campsite. Serious offences may give rise to criminal prosecution. Offences are always reported to the police.


Lost and found

Any items lost/found are collected in the Campsite Office. After the festival any items that are not retrieved by their owners are brought to the Kortrijk police station. Address: Minister de Taeyelaan 9, 8500 Kortrijk (tel. 056 239611).
