If Udo Dirkschneider’s name doesn’t ring a bell, which we can’t even imagine possible, we’ve got a quick introduction for you. Udo was the main front man and co-founder of Accept.
You know, that band who put power and speed metal on the map in Germany, and accumulated success after success in the seventies and eighties until they hit a rocky part in their history. Nicknamed ‘the Little General’, for good reasons, he hit the solo road under his name U.D.O., but also kept going back to his old love Accept every now and then. This on again and off again relationship, didn’t really help the mutual understanding between Udo and his former bandmates up to the present day. Mr. Dirkschneider doesn’t hide his blunt opinion on Accept’s current frontman Mark Tornillo, stating he lacks inspiration. And his words, inspired him to treat the old school fans of Accept to all their classics live last year. "Fast As A Shark”, ”Metal Heart”, “Balls To The Wall" and "Princess Of The Dawn”, which are all engraved in our collective metal memory. Due to the success and well attended shows Dirkschneider is continuing this tour. His appearance at last year’s Graspop MM was one for the books. So if your “Restless and Wild”, we are confident that Udo will steamroll the grounds in Kortrijk this summer!
